Bill Magill is an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD. His programs focus on the commercialization of deep tech innovations, and he has directed INSEAD courses and workshops with such leading centers of research as CERN, the Fraunhofer Institute, and the Lutech alliance. Bill has also taught courses on startup creation, innovation valuation, private equity, and venture capital fundraising. He co-created INSEAD’s Sci-Tech Accelerator, which was awarded 2012 Innovation of the Year by the AMBA association.
Bill is also the founder of the Interprize Group, where he leads revivals on the pursuit of grand life ambitions post 50. His core career was spent in the San Francisco Bay area as a venture capitalist, public equities analyst, and telecoms market consultant. During this time he invested in and advised deep tech startups in the US, Europe, and Israel. He started his professional life building high-energy laser systems for the U.S. Departments of Defense and Energy, including at Livermore National Laboratories. He holds an MBA from San Francisco State University, a BA in Economics from UC Davis, and an AAS in Lasers & Electro-Optics from Texas State Technical College.
