Rolf Hoefer is a PhD Candidate at INSEAD where he runs an INSEAD Blockchain Bootcamp and explores the implications of blockchain and cryptocurrencies for management and strategy. Rolf’s work goes beyond merely explaining how and why blockchain alters accepted notions of organizing based on costly trust mechanisms. Rolf’s work explains how people can think in a disciplined way about how to take advantage of blockchain and cryptocurrencies and what they should do differently today. In particular, Rolf’s research focuses on offering a usable framework that helps people think about how they might use blockchain and cryptocurrencies to develop their organization’s competitive advantage, value proposition, and structure in order to succeed over target customers’ next best alternatives. Rolf also runs an investment fund and a consultancy business in the blockchain and cryptocurrencies space.
