Our panel of leading fintech start-up founders and prominent venture capitalists will answer your questions and boost your chances of success. The context will be how start-ups can approach growth through fundraising, the life-blood of many high- growth companies. We’ll also hear what top VCs like to see when investing in start-ups. The panel discussion and Q&A will be followed by a chance to network with our exciting entrepreneurs and other experts in the fintech and financial services industry in London.

Our panel comprises:

Giles Andrews (MBA 97D) is the Co-founder and Chairmanof Zopa, the world’s first peer to peer lending business when it launched in March 2005. It has now facilitated over £1bn in loans, while winning numerous awards for customer service.

Lee Cowles (MBA 99J) was previously a Managing Directorat Nutmeg. He has a successful track record across a variety of roles and sectors including over 13 years building and scaling rapid-growth B2C businesses.

Jan Hammer (MBA 02J) is a Partner at Index Ventures and focuses on venture and growth stage investments across a number of technology sub-sectors, with a particular interest in Financial Services and Information/Data Services across all stages.

Mike Laven is the CEO of Currency Cloud, and helped grow the firm to the point where it has now processed over $15bn of international payments and more than 1.4m transactions since 2012.

Ophelia Brown (MBA 12J) is a General Partner atLocalGlobe, a seed-focused venture capital fund that has backed some of the UK’s biggest success stories, like Zoopla, Graze and TransferWise.
