In today’s supply chains, information is ubiquitous and cheap to store. New forms of data are collected coming from multiple sources giving companies an opportunity to have real-time visibility on their supply chain operations, to synchronize their physical and financial flows with their information flows, and to accelerate the velocity of their decision-making process. Although this abundance of information presents numerous opportunities, it is not without challenges.
