The Promise & Peril of Deep Tech Venture Building

Wednesday, 27 March 2024

11.00 am CET

Duration: 60 min

The journey to launching deep tech ventures presents unique challenges that set it apart from more straightforward tech or digital initiatives. The demands in terms of capital – both financial and in terms of human resources and time – are significantly higher. Deep tech ventures often face inherent performance constraints that can complicate product development and prototyping might necessitate the use of specialized equipment. Additionally, the number of investors who are familiar with and willing to engage with these challenges is relatively small. However, deep tech ventures also have distinct advantages, such as being grounded in solid, patented intellectual property, which reduces competition and can unlock enormous market opportunities when innovative solutions are paired with the right business strategies.

Join us to explore the promise and peril of Deep Tech Venture Building with Sara Nunez Garcia (MBA’12D), Co-Founding Partner, Forty51 Ventures ; Ash Ravikumar, Entrepreneurship Development Officer, CERN and Gaurav Tomar (EMBA’24Jan), Principal Industry Manager, MathWorks. The webinar is hosted by Bill Magill, Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Adrian Johnson, Adjunct Professor, both INSEAD.
